I would really like a set of these, they might be the answer I'm looking for.....tall enough for the 1/4, but short enough to still run good 1/8 times. I REALLY don't want the expense/hassle of grinding calipers and buying 16" rims to get a 28" tall slick.

these tires will allow you to stay in third while in 1/4 right

For you definately, for me I don't know.... 4.56 gears rock right up until you run out of RPM's, then not so much. Right now with 295 MT's I'm at 5600 RPM's crossing the traps in the 1/8, with a 1 1/2" taller tire and an extended rev limit to 6500 with Superchips....maybe?

02-27-2009, 06:23 PM
that would be cool with a nitto nt555r 305/35/20 for my 20's that would put me at 28.5 and my rims only weight 30 lbs
but rule of thumb is get 17's
sawcut64
02-27-2009, 06:42 PM
I don't think the Nitto's are all that sticky, at least not like the Mickey Thompsons. Also not much sidewall to flex, ideally a 15" slick/DR of the proper height would probably stick the best, but 16's and 17's seem to work pretty well.

I'm gonna call Bob Monday and see if he will pursue this. PPP-tech pretty much attacked Bob on SRT connection saying it was wrong for Bob to talk to Hoosier about the 17" slick because ppp-tech had done all the leg work on this project. I'll buy the 16" slick from Bob before I buy from the other guy. Knowing Bob he probably won't want to cause any waves over this but I'll ask him anyway....LOL I just checked the SRT connection thread trying to quote what ppp-tech said about Bob, but he has edited the thread.

Yes, I was very mad about it. I bought 25 sets of tires because everyone was interested and then I saw Moes just interject himself to sell the same thing. That is very shady business no matter how you look at it. You dont let another business work on something for weeks and drum up interest and then undercut them and try to sell the same product. I erased my statement because me and Bob should talk about it offline as he did not originally know I had already been working on it. Anyhow, i will call Bob tomorrow and find out what his plan is.
Let me clarify, I dont thing Bob was trying to do anything that would hurt our business, I dont think he knew we were already working on it. I will call Bob tomorrow and we will figure everything out.

Glad you clarified the fact that Bob would never steal business from you or anyone else, I don't think the man even thinks in those terms. Actually kind of surprised you would get pissed and post anything like that without first contacting him to explain. Bob is the most stand up guy we have in the Hemi community......

Glad your going to get this worked out Andy. I would like the 17" slicks over the 16" due to the caliper work that needs to be done, but I agree Bob wouldn't purposely cut in on your business. If you have an extra set let me know, I'll be glad to buy a set now.

Yeah I know bob also. I have been on the truck forums since 2003. I even bought my p1sc from him years ago. On lxf, rubbel clarified who was handling the group buy so I assumed he just copy and pasted his post to the connection. The I saw Bob trying to offer the same deal and I was upset, it wasnt till later that I realized that it was not clear on the connection that we were already working on it. No biggie, im still going to call bob tomorrow.

You can just put $100 down total. I just want to secure the first 25 sets as I think they will go fast and I dont want anyone upset because they couldnt buy them in time.

Ok, looks like $199 per tire is doable. I will adjust pricing online. If you have already paid a deposit, I will send you a gift certificate in that amount to apply to the new order.
