money is a factor which is more failsafe and is stronger

leaning toward the detroit just because of the no hassle

I was told by both companies that my truck makes too much torque to handle their products. What the ....?

What about a full on detroit Jerry?
I've got the full on Detroit in my '01 4x4. Works like a charm with the 39.5" Iroks!!

You need a locker. The torque limitation on mine is the axle.

Interesting. What is the torque/rwhp capacities on our axles and (aluminum) driveshaft? I've never hooked (just spun like crazy with the dr's) since I've had the stroker and now that the 17" slicks are available I know I'll now get traction. So I'll either shoot out of the hole safely or somethings gonna break. Should I upgrade the driveshaft or axle before going to the track? I have an auburn lsd, 2600 torque convertor, 4.10 gears and caltracs. Haven't dynoed yet but with our drivetrain loss I figure anywhere from 390-410 rwhp and the same torque.

Is there any way to lessen our drivetrain power loss? I know if my stock LSD ever goes out im puttin a DTT in. Be cool to get one for the front too

Sure, put in a Ford 9" and a manual transmission. Overhaul your brakes so they don't drag, straighten up the pinion angle. There's probably more.

A ford 9 isn't all that

doesnt a ford 9'' have more power loss compared to our 9.25?

I don't realy know.
But I would take our 9.25 over a stock ford 9 any day.
Now, get one of those aftermarket 9 rears and you have something.

I figure the smallest ring gear will be the most efficient provided it doesn't blow up.

The larger Dana 60 is is more efficient and stronger than the lighter weight 8 3/4.

What makes it more efficient? Sry for all the questions, just tryin to figure out how I can make my stock parts more efficient (if it can be done)..

The relation of the pinion gear to the ring gear. How the gears are cut.

Ive got the Auburn Lsd and it runs fine.
Now i was going to ask, what craps out faster, the stock gears or stock lsd?

I think the stock gears are very high quality. At least compared to my Motives. The factory LSD is worthless junk.
