so I competed in a recent sand drag event. I got 3rd place, only one truck kept beating me. And I did have some issues. I did leave with a trophy and some cash in hand.
With the 392HEMI and the aggressive tires, I experienced excessive wheel hop on the rear end. So I need to research a control method that well prevent the wheel hop, and still allow full axle articulation for off-road use. I'm in talks with a company that may have the answer.
On my last 2 runs my engine ran like crap, bogging and cutting out. Kinda like low on gas. I think the problem is with my exhaust. My exhaust is “clamped” to my headers, and we had cut “slits” on the pipes to allow easy removal of the exhaust system to make replacing of engine, trans or transfer case. It seems the exhaust pipes slowly pull apart over time, allowing clean air to reach in and touch the O2’s, making the computer think its running lean, causing the computer to dump more fuel, causing the engine to run rich, causing me to run slower..
Ill be installing “V-Band Clamps” soon.
