what gears are you guys running? 4.10 or 4.56?
The wife gave me the ok to get geared up for My B-day next month. Most of my driving is in town; I do go on the highway from time to time but not that much.
my truck is a 2006QC 2wd with 3.92 at the moment
also I read that on the 06 and up some grinding is required for the 4.56 gears to go in??????
Thanks Guys
Danny

4.10's here. The only reason I put them in was because I was changing over to a Detroit trutrac and I figured I'd go with a tad more gear while it was apart.

It's hard to say whether or not it would be too big a gear for you. What are you gonna do with your truck? Go to the track? Everyday driving? Towing?
I'll let a few more guys throw in their opinions.

Well my truck will be ready tomorrow. We did the test fit to see if clearance grinding would be needed and mine won't need it. Maybe it's because my Yukons are different then other brands.

I'll be doing 4.56's in the next month or so (can't find a way to get 4.88's in the front) :bsjerk:
I've done other gear swaps before, is there anything to watch for with our diffs? ('04) Looks easiest to just pull the front diff out of the truck (gotta replace a snapped cv shaft anyway) :(

The front axle is snapped so technically it's 2wd! :D Didn't want to start a whole new thread for a related question, rather hijack this thread! haha
