I'm gonna pull my overload springs out of the rear spring pack. Do I need a shorter center bolt for the spring pack?

no, but do one side at a time or you will hate life if you are doing it on jack stands

So do they have a pretty good pre-load, I mean do I need to keep them clamped after I drop them or will they fly apart? I just kept them clamped when I did the flip, never let them free.

pry the clamps from the sides so the leafs will pull off, then as you loosen the center bolt the tension will slowly lessen. its very easy and straightforward

put the jack stands under the frame, and use the floor jack to guide everything back up, no your leafs will not fly apart, that nut is GOING TO BE A PAIN IN YOUR ASS!!! apply lots of penetrating lube.

LOL - yah. I already replaced the PIA nut/bolt with the flip kit. Just was'nt sure how much pressure were loaded in the spring pack. Thanks for the info guys !!

In reality, all you need is enough rear spring to hold the box of the truck up without a load in it. But then you'll need some stiff rear shocks that can the weight transfer.

That's how mine is now, with just 2 leafs left the truck is pretty stiff but squats about 2" with just 2-300lbs on the tailgate. So far it seems to like it with the caltracs. Now for some good shocks and helper bags for an all around setup.
