I was just wondering and I've heard it mentioned in quiet whispers that you could use the 6.1 Hemi headers on the 5.7 in place of long tube headers since there doesn't seem to be any available for the 2500 trucks.

Has anyone heard of this? Does it really work? I've seen them on Ebay for $100+/- and wondering if it would be worth it since there really isn't anything out there available for under $1000 for my Megacab.

I know the cars do it. Most guys have to contend with the tight clearance up front caused by the ifs so they don't fit. Don't think anyone has tried them on a 2500 though.

There is a port mismatch, but there's a port mismatch with most of the longtubes too since the exhaust ports are square. its not as big of a deal as with intake mismatch.

I've never seen headers listed as being available for 5.7 that didnit exclude either the Megacab or the 2500 specifically. I just happened to read on a post somewhere else that stated people were using the 6.1 headers on the 5.7. I just wanted to check it out with the Power People before I wasted any money on them.

I looked for the doug thorely tri-y's and the one website I went to only listed ones for the 5.9. Nothing for the Hemi.

Next time I run into him at a meet, I'll have to take a look at them.

1BB: Educate me on the headers. You said I'd loose 5hp/tq with them. I thought the purpose of headers was to let the engine breath better and increase the HP/tq rating. I know how getting an oversized exhaust would eventually hurt the low end but how would hearders actually hurt the performance?

Sorry for what's probably a stupid question but I'll be the 1st one to admit I don't know alot about this stuff.
