Ask them if thet are 100% CF...or just an overlay. One of the brands advertises CF and its just an overlay on a steel hood.

i think it is an over lay on a fiberglass hood from what i was told and Venom Power (houston SRT10) has one seen it in person. very niice hood and it is so light that he has to undo the struts when the hood is closed or else they hold the hood up and the body line dont match

Thats the idea of one to be ultra light and remove more weight from the front. It more than likly is a overlay for looks though.

Coley, lack of rigidity is what will cause the hood to not line up. You can make it light AND rigid if its a quality product but I think the fact that it bows answers whether it is or not.

i wouldn't say its not quality. i would say the struts are designed for a steel hood & the aftermarket one is LESS rigid.
anyways, to anyone that is having to take off their struts because they are bowing the hood, check out http://www.lstechnologies.ca/. they are a company out of canada & they build me customs struts to hold the trunk open in my accord. it originally had torsion springs, but w/ the airtank added to the lid they just weren't enough, so i replaced them w/ custom struts. steven is who i dealt w/ & was a good guy, he worked w/ me till we got it right.

yea you have to keep in mind the stock hood weighs what 50lbs, so the struts are made to hold up a 50lb hood.. if you put one on that weighs 20lbs its going to have a hard time keeping the struts down
