"We also got a look at the Viper Red Mopar Ram Runner. It's inspired by Baja-style desert racing and according to official Mopar press information features 35x12.50-17 DOT-approved General Grabber tires; a prototype of a full suspension that Mopar will offer later this year; 6061 T6 billet aluminum upper A-arms with rebuildable, high-angle ball joints that permit 14 inches of wheel travel; 4130 chrome-moly steel lower control arms; high-angle CV joints that are combined with plunging, splined axles made of 300M tool steel and 1-inch-diameter high-angle tie rods; 3-inch-diameter internal bypass Fox shocks; and variable rate rear coil springs that support bed loads while special control arms provide 14 inches of wheel travel. Outside, it has fiberglass front fenders and fiberglass bedsides; a custom tubular Baja bumper and aluminum skidplate combination that houses four high-power LED off-road lights; and a custom tubular tire carrier for the spare. Inside, it has a trick six-point rollcage.

We got to see, and photograph, the Ram Runner in action and we can say that all of the mods worked very well together as a unit. "

That particular truck was also fitted with a Gen II 426 crate motor Hemi backed with a Turbo 400 transmission. Don't ask me how I know :peelout:.

All the ram runner parts were just released to the public. You can buy that 14" travel suspension for the low price of $13,000

And doesn't include any body panels, bumpers, tire carrier or other visible parts. I think pickuptruck.net had a total of $20,000 for the package.

so roughly $60k for a ramrunner? Not too bad IMO...

GMC and Chevrolet sells custom lifted trucks for those kind of prices. And they're more tuned to form rather than actual function

makes a $42,000 raptor look like a bargain.
