I don't think you'll have a problem with the digital's blinding you.My afr gauge has an auto-dimming feature to it.Your gauage's might have that too being there digital. My other 2 gauge's are bright enough to distract you so i put them on a adjustable dimmer switch i got from autometer.I can adjust the amount of light from no light to as bright as i want.

its held up really well actually, no flake or peeling. it's got a few scuffs on the sill from getting in/out, but overall i'm happy. i'd use the products again.
here's the tech sheet for prep.
http://semproducts.com/images/tech_files/CC-LV%20TDS.pdf
i cleanded everything w/ wax & grease remover, gray scotchbrite (not red or green - they're too abrasive), and wax & grease remover again. then i ran it under some water. if the water beads that means there are contaminents still in the plastic (clean it again), if it sheets off you're good to go. after everything sheet'd, i dryed it & went over it w/ a tack rack. did a light coat of adhesion promoter, then a medium coat of SEM. i let it set up about 12-15 mins between coats till i got the shade right. it took quite a few coats going from gray/black to red lol.
