Crane 216 Idle Video and Pictures!

Well "Sawcut" Sam installed my Crane 216 cam today and am still grinning from ear to ear!

glad you finally got it installed, sounds pretty healthy. what the sound compared to a 268?

It seemed to me to have more lope to my ears then the 268, but its also on the base tune. It will calm down some when its got a better tune.

I think 625 or 650 something. The base tune was at 750 or so. It ran so great I bumped it down.

Its all for show from what I was told. Also if your idle is to high the jerking sitting at a light is annoying.

bullets are just retardedly loud, lol i found the cleanest sound is with two hooker aerochambers, they sound really good

I imagine my setup is louder then the bullets. Its not much quieter then TQ tubes.

There is a huge difference in sound with a 700 idle compared to 750 idle. I want mine about 650 and I think it will be perfect. When I had diablo it was around 600-625 it sounded mean but not too much difference compared to 700. I hated the 750 idle the truck just felt like it would launch to much every time you let off the brake I hated it.

I went WOT a few times today cut em loose at 30 mph, nothing special. But I never let it shift above 5000 rpm.

Why is the cranes lift significantly less do they base theres on a 1.7 ratio??

Also I thought that everyone thought the 268 was the cats meow, why did ya change to the 216?

yes, crane uses a 1.7 ratio... and the 268 is a very good cam, he didnt switch from the 268, hes just comparing specs. the 216 is a good cam as well, he should see impressive results

Thats what I thought .......... I personally believe the 216 to be a suprior cam over the 268 but what the hell do I know? I am going with a KRC 210X on a 108+4:cowb:

Did some datalogging today. And I also did my first 1-2 shift at 6200 rpm! All I can say is WOW! What a difference! This truck really gets up and moves. The shift was great! Grinning from ear to ear!
