I am looking to buy a vehilce out of state. Before investing the time to go out there what should I look for or ask. I have never purchased a vehicle out of state and want to make sure I know as much possible before going there.

He is taking a video and sending it to me tomorrow.

Now about the truck.

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4wd ext cab 4dr 87,000 miles 5.9 360 v8

No rust, frame mount brush gaurd.

5.5" fabtech suspension lift with 2" skyjacker coil spacers up front, and a 3" performance acc. Body lift

38x15.5 Mickey thompson MTZ's w/ aftermarket wheels

voolant cold air intake, hypertech power programmer chip, and flowmaster 40 series cat back exhaust

alpine motorized cd player, with alpine type S 6x9's in the front doors, alpine type S 6 1/4 rounds in the back doors, and an alpine 500 watt amp powering an alpine type R 10" sub also has the viper remote start, door locks and alarm system with picture display key fob

The only thing he stated it needs is steering stabilizer. He claimed there is only 1 made by skyjacker because of the oversize front axle (which he claimed is rare, which i dont know).

Truck is about 700 miles away so it will cost me about 600 to go get it and bring it back.

He said he will sell for 7,000. I beleive kbb from private seller is around 8,800.

What can you tell me?

I think hemi1569 and hemki31 are in NY....maybe if they aren't too far away they could give you a preliminary look?

I will pm them this morning.

What about the options/front axle/common problems on these trucks?

regardless of what kind of truck it is, i wouldnt commit to buying it without going look at it and drive it personally... you need go look at it and if your not happy with it dont be afraid to turn around and go home...

the truck has got a lot of suspension work done, its hard to take someones word on just how well everything is holding up without looking at/driving for yourself... he may say "oh it drives fine" then you get in the damn thing and its a nightmare over 35mph

i wouldnt pay that much for a truck that far away. I would just look a little closer to home and eventually you will find something just a good or better.
