well after my last trip to the track i realized street tires are waste of time at the track.
what size DR do i need to run i think a 28 in tall tire will work with my 3.92s

and what size tire should i run on the front

note i will be running then driving to the track and i might drive to work and to meets with them so i need to tires to be as big as possible
so i want it to not lok to goofy on a 2/4 drop
input plz and pics if u got em

With your current mods i would try a 26" tall tire

I agree...28 is on the tall side for DRs, and the 26s will give you extra gearing since you're a goofy bastard who doesn't wanna do gears.

Yup, if you don't want to do gears stick with 26" tall tires... It'll look queer as hell, but it works

yep 26 but it will look funny but that the price you gotta pay for racing a truck and not gearing. then just find used tires that are as skinny as possible and as close to 26-28in tall for the front. when looking for fronts go thru craigslist and used tire stores in your area and use the tire calculator to see the height till you find something right.

275/40 M/T= 26" tire but will look goofy or go with a 27.5 tire 295/45 r17 and looks better

I would go with the 28in tires if you plan on driving on the street often with them. The 26in tires 2-4 drop and body kit doesn't give you much ground clearance. Especailly with that srt bumper. From a strictly performance stand point go with the 26in tires.

225/55's up front and 275/40's (26in). This is with a body kit to show how much low it will be.

Yea my track wheels/tires are all about 26" tall and with the 2/4 drop I have about 5" of clearance under the front bumper... I personally don't mind the ground clearance, I just hate the gap in the wheel wells

so I plan to put 28" tires instead and probably drop the truck another 2"

What all did that drop consist of? I'd like to end up with a 4/6... If even that much I still want to be able to put helper bags and tow shit

adamsredlines
02-24-2010, 09:58 PM
4/6 is coils/spindles and a flip with stock shackles
5/7 is a 4/6 with drop shackles and coils with half a ring cut.

sldhemi

right now ive got coils and drop leafs... think i could get another 2 out back with just shackles?

who makes a decent set of spindles? DJM?

adamsredlines
02-24-2010, 10:49 PM
Shackles and leafs will give you 5 inches...I had drop leafs before my flip kit lol.

McGaughys is who made my spindles.

sldhemi
02-24-2010, 10:52 PM
i can deal with only 5 inches in the back, or i might just make my own shackles... you didnt have to c notch with 6" in the back did you?

adamsredlines
02-24-2010, 10:55 PM
I ended up notching with the 5....but never had helperbags.

This is McGaughys spindles, belltech coils, drop leafs and drop shackles w/ 275/45/20s

I've gone through a lot of suspension setups haha

did you "have" to notch with the 5? lol i REALLY dont want to c notch the truck

the way your truck sits right there is about what im looking for... ill be running slightly shorter tires but it should still look pretty good

adamsredlines
02-24-2010, 11:03 PM
Depends if you like bottoming out....
I did on certain bumps....not many, but some and I knew I wanted to go lower so I had slammed1 notch it.
Helperbags may eliminate that need...but I can't say for sure.

sldhemi
02-24-2010, 11:05 PM
ill look at it and see how close it'll be with another inch of drop and then ill see... im only gonna do helper bags for towing... the caltrac bars will stiffen everything up as well

adamsredlines
02-24-2010, 11:07 PM
Gonna need shorter bump stops too, but that's no biggie.

sldhemi
02-24-2010, 11:09 PM
ive already got shorter bumpstops, they're only about an inch tall... if need i might just take them off

adamsredlines
02-24-2010, 11:10 PM
Those will be fine...leave them on, you really don't want metal on metal if it bottoms out.
