268? Why not try a cam with more lift? Since you already have a 3000 stall and 4.56 gears in a RC why not go a little bigger, maybe a 273, Spartan Max, or if you plan on heads SRT Max. Don't listen to me though just tryin to give thought to other ideas.

I rarely go to the track anymore so my dreams of big builds and forced induction are being set aside for a more practical street truck with an emphasis on trouble free reliability. I don't want a top end monster, nor do I want one that quits pulling at 4k. I just want a gtood all around cam...that doesn't require heads.

get a hellfire if you want a Daily driver, i know one thing for sure is my 218/218 likes to torque all over the place 112 with some advance and it comes on real hard and pulls pretty nicely in third with the third gear a/f sean has dialed in perfectomundo for me. I have 0 driveability issues even with the 696 idle and 750 idles.

Good move Mike. Sam ran a 8.43@81.27 with just 4.56's, 6.1 cam and a set of our stock valve cnc'd heads and Stage III valve body. He then added a converter, 268 Comp cam and dropped into the mid 7.80's. Added a set of Inertia big valve heads and ported throttle body and he went 7.79.

hell with 4.56 and a 3000 stall, your truck should rip out the 60ft. it should be able to pull a low 1.7 60ft at least. other than that the rest of the slip looks kosher, sounds to me like the truck just isnt making the power it should. so i gotta agree with everyone else that maybe its the cam

i already had the srtmax in it after i installed the new set up my friend asked me to sell it for him, he ended up going with a 222/226 cam with his 392 stroker, AND I SURE AS HELL DONT WANT TO DO ANOTHER CAM SWAP. Im also happy with the srt max it gave me the top end i wanted and with the new 3400 circle D triple disk billet stall i get tomorrow i know i will be more happy with this set up

if all they engine dynos floating around are correcty then the 268 out performs it all the way to 6000-6200 rpm the 273 makes more power over 6500 but the 268 has more torque on the lower end, its like a 15-20 foot pound difference i think.

what i dont understand is that you have a good 60' and you gain 24mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 and thats more than i gain. i just dont see why you cant get better times.....i guess its the cam but i have seen many run good times with that cam
