I have a set of Boss 304's that i bought last spring. I used them all summer with my toyo proxies the wheels looked great new. For the Winter i put my stock wheels with toyo Open country's, so salt wouldn't ruin the 304's. Ever since the first time i washed the wheels they never looked the same with water spots and stains. I used mothers to protect them but it didn't help. The Break dust gummed up like tar and discolored spots all over the lip. I have been shining them up to be ready for show season, and finally after the last two days of cleaning and polishing, I fucking quit!!
I would not recommend buying this wheel, They SUCK!

That's funny, I was using a metal polisher today and had no effect on the stains. THe buff ball is too soft, good thought though. On the break gum i was able to get that off with some never dull and 0000# brillo with soap and water for lube.
One of my detailing buddies suggested 2000 grit wet sanding them. I think i might just get them powder coated when i wear out this set of tires. Or buy a set of all black wheels.

I have to take my billet Boyd Coddingtons off 3-4 times a year, sand them down with 1500-2000 grit wetsand paper and hit them with Mothers. MAJOR PITA! I wanna get new wheels.. haha. Night and day difference when you wetsand them though.

These are pics of my ruined nice weather wheels. 3 of my wheels look okay after polishing and polishing.
Today I put the winter wheels away, and put these on but before i did i painted a fresh coat on the calipers and rotors.
I am thinking about switching my lugs out with something all black. has anyone seen something like this or something that wont rust. I am looking for a web site if someone knows of one.

yup, powdercoat is awesome. though i sprayed mine with some wheel cleaner and they have looked strange since. from standing up they look fine, but when you get close they look almost like they are fading...what gives??

interesting, what kind of wheel cleaner? I assume it is for chrome or polished wheels? If so I would not use that stuff (as you already learned I guess).

It's a polish. I found here at Canadian Tire. Comes in a very small tub. I used it on my bumpers and trim which looked like shit after a winter and this stuff seemed to do the trick.

Didn't we get this at the GTG? It works well on my rims and stainless rockers.
