6.1 based 392,5.7 BIG VALVE heads, cam to be decided in near future.
Eagle rods, ross pistons ect....... Should be a fun truck to drive after install.
Better driveshaft will happen as well....... Not shooting to be the quickest
or the most radical, just plenty of power and reliable..... When the pics come in I will post them....... Had a budget and this will keep me right there.

Did you get the phone pic I sent? Camera is at home,,,since St Louis.
I was thinking about your timing of this build..
2 days after we got home from St Louis, my parts guy called and said he just recieved 2 6.1 blocks.
He couldn't find the order for them, but thought I might want them.... (I ordered them back in January) Then the order got canceled,,, then the dealership was "gone". (2 stores, 1 was shit canned by chrysler)
The good thing,, my same parts guy is at the home store and everything is normal,,,, and 2 6.1 blocks "just" showed up. LOL Awsome.
Since my personnel block was used for a customers build over the winter. I'm glad to have it back. Mike,, your timing was perfect.

Don't give up. I finally got my new oil pump and my charge pipes to stay together at 14 psi and the cam should makes things more fun. By the way my intercooler is knocking my IAT down by 150*F on long pulls and meth kicks it 10* below ambient. Finally running right just in time for snow.

So an a/a intercooler would work well for my setup? Better than using w/m?

Never. Low boost at 5# it runs like a raped ape and is dead quiet. It's too bad the stock IAT sensor takes like 5 minutes to react. I'm sure the truck would be more responsive if the sensor was as quick as my Fluke meter is. I might have to try and graph it's resistance for normal temperatures and replace it with something better. It does, however, react instantly to being sprayed with methanol.:D

Mine changes with a second or less when monitoring with diablo. It will be 10 to 15 higher if I remember correctly than would go down to ambient temp when I floor it.

I thought someone would have the answer by now!!!!!!
Nitriding is a highly specialized surface hardening treatment that produces a thin but high hardness case on a wide variety of steels. The significant advantage of nitriding over other surface hardening processes is that the case hardness is developed without quenching and the attendant distortion problems. Finishing operations can be eliminated or held to a minimum.
Nitrided surfaces are highly wear resistant and provide anti-galling properties. Fatigue life is improved, and the process improves the corrosion resistance of the part. An additional advantage of nitriding is that the surface hardness is resistant to softening by temperatures up to the process temperature.
The nitriding process involves the diffusion of nitrogen into the base steel. This diffusion takes place at relatively low temperatures (typical process temperature is 975 F) and the hardening occurs without quenching. Core properties are not affected by the nitriding process provided the final tempering temperature for the product was higher than the nitriding process temperature.

The cam choice is something Im very proud to be part of.
As many remember Matt and his 370 build, the cam from that original build will be in my 392. Thanks to Matt for offering me the chance to make that
monster cam come to life in another Sharadon Stroker.
This was my decision to install this cam and Im sure Sean will have his hands full tuning this one. Is it spring yet?????
Hemidup
12-15-2009, 12:53 PM
Congrats Mike. I'm just as tickled as you are. That cam sure did rock in Matt's truck. I'm sure Sean will have a handle on the tuning. He said if Denny could get it to drive with the SMT6, it shouldn't be much of an issue with SCT.
ramcrazy
12-15-2009, 11:31 PM
Thanks Jerry for the support and just being a good friend. That cam
is a monster and Sean will tune it just fine. Im losing the heavy bed cover and going with a light weight one. Also putting on a rollpan and losing the
hitch. Moving battery to the back and a few other mods before spring.
Thing Im most looking forward to is Cedar Falls in the spring, good racing, good food and a few brews. Not to mention the closer we get to summer the closer we are to Walleye fishing.....

Yea, I guess that's true. I forget that Iowa gets lots of snow, so your not really missing out on anything anyways. I'd be happy right now with some big valve heads from sharadon, but I've got a baby coming, so I'm not going to spend 2 grand right now. Maybe next Christmas. What heads are you going with?

probably not. do you already have a 16 row tranny cooler. if you have the 11 i would just upgrade to the 16 and forget the deeper pan but if you already have the larger cooler then the deep pan might be overkill and never let the tranny get up to the proper temp.

IMO, a deeper pan is useless without a deeper filter or filter extension. Come on Jerry it shouldn't take too much to fab up extensions for us. I know Chev guys have them.
