There is a nasty chevy truck. I'll put a video up. Basically what he did: he has a 4x4 conversion and a msd timer. What the timer does is, allows him to come out of the hole is 4x4 for roughly 2secs, then it switches to 2wd for the rest of the run.

Great idea, but my transfer case doesn't completly disengage unless I take all the load off of it meaning I have to lift my foot off the gas for a second or two.

I'll talk with Ray. I know he keeps his 4l80 in 4x4 for the whole pass.

It would be pretty sweet if it could work in one of our rams. 4x4 just kills my top end.

that truck moves out. 427 w/2 seperate nitrous systems and 4wd, has to be really really close to 10's easy.

I think ray told me the truck on the 24s spun real bad and went like 12.5 n/a and like 12.0 on spray. I think he's expecting somewhere around 10.50 on a decent set of tires

I have often wondered about that. Mine is the same, and guys say that they launch with 4x4 and then switch out. I think that is either bull or stupid. Plus, launching in 4wd is a bit rough. Trucks don't exactly like it.

If it's not rough, it's not launching good.

yea, I don't think you can switch back to 2-wheel with a load on the transfer case. in fact when i go from 4-hi to 2 wheel drive, i can feel driveline bind for at least a few more feet. and I have a floor shifter.
Personally, I Cant launch in 2-Wheel drive, I can spin all the way through a 4 lane intersection. So at the track I have to use 4-Hi.
during my last transmission rebuild, they looked my Transfer case over too, found a bad bearing and loose chain. so launching in 4X4 (Hi and Low for sand) is hard. I do have one near new transfer case waiting...

Well, I already have 3 Transmissions 2 built at any given time, and an extra Transfer case. But i do like to have extra parts.
can you PM me your 20 and a price for that case?

How about an even trade for the solenoid pack ($255 my cost) that I sent you that got lost in the return mail?

I have never tried leaving it 4wd the entire track with the floor shifter. I always bump it back into 2wd about 80 feet out. There is no binding, and it probably doesn't technically go into 2wd but the shifter slips in easily, and thats how I've always raced it for the last 3-4 years. My guess is that when you let off at the big end it disengages the transfer case, because the wheels don't bind making the U turn at the track exit. The really fun thing about shift on the fly 4wd systems is being able to jam it in 4wd after pulling into traffic and hammering it with no wheelspin, lol. :D

THAT TRUCK WHEN IT WAS 2WD 24/7 RAN A 12.5 N/A SPINNING AND AND 11.8 W/ NITROUS SPINNING ON 24'S. HE WENT AND GOT A 4X4 CONVERSION OUT OF A Z71 AND NOW HAS IT TO WHERE IT WILL TAKE OFF IN AWD AND THEN SWITCH TO 2WD. HE HASNT MADE ANYMORE N/A RUNS FROM WHAT I KNOW BUT HAS BROKE 10S( 10.8) ON 24S WITH A 2 STAGE NITROUS SYSTEM
