Gonna try these out this saturday at the track. I made them up this week. I figure I don't need the front end of the truck going so high when I launch since I have no traction issues. These will limit the height that the front end can go up and I'm thinking that I should be able to go forward quicker. I'm gonna drill a couple extra holes so I can have a bit of adjustment. We'll see what happens.

got any better pics of the qa1 shocks? i've been wanting some of those for the front for a while, specially the bottom mounting hole on the control arm, how the shock mounts to it.

Nope no pics. All I did to get them to work was I took out the bottom pin that came with the shocks and used the ones that were in my drop shocks. I just had to slightly grind them so they would fit into the QA1 shock.

Nice to see. Should show a difference in 60' since you have slicks. From your pics I think your weight transfer is a "little" excessive.

Have you thought about using a chain, or drilling various holes that way you can adjust the amount of transfer to varying track conditions?
Something else I don't know if you've thought of or are even interested in is trying a "torque strap" or plate at the bellhousing to stop the engine from rolling when accelerating...

good luck with the new innovations
best luck
drink some mountain dew for those awesome reaction times
proud hemi you got some good ideas im asking sincerely here but wouldnt that cause problems for the engine by strapping it down
wouldnt something break or give way with all the torque trying to be controlled

As long as your not using a solid motor mount or tranny mount it should be fine. Having it strapped down at the bellhousing won't hurt anything. But if it's solidly located at the middle and on either end, any body/frame flex would put alot of stress on the crank, or could crack the block, transmission.etc,etc.

Jay, I've thought about doing the same thing, but in my head I was going to use a chain with a turnbuckle on one end to adjust it. Just a thought..

those were my thoughts
just wasnt sure
take them off and put them on to see if you loose some time with them
if not just an idea

straps are used on motorcycles to pull the front end down and prevent lift, kind of what your going for here...
it works very well on bikes so im anxious to see how they work for you

Here you go. I need to find a way to slow down how fast my car lifts. I wonder if keeping it from lifting all the way will keep the front up longer. Hurry up and post some results.
Those are alot fancier than ones I've seen.LOL Usually a cable or a piece of sheet metal that attaches at the bellhousing and mounts to either the frame or body. I like those though cause with the bushings it'll still let it flex a little.

Heath, at first I was thinking about using chain but figured this would be a whole helluva lot quieter. I plan on drilling a few extra holes so I can adjust as necessary.

Nice Jay,,, your 1 of the few that this may help.
You can also play with cal-tracs to limit lift. Were do you have them now? How much have you played with them?
You can feel the front hit it's limit in Jerry's truck on launch. The cal-tracs helped that a bunch. We still haven't had any track time to change that.

Good work jay!:D The picture looks like you have no slack in it. It is nice you can adjust it. By the time you read this you may have tried what I would try, that is have about one inch or so of slack in your strap. I would think you need the front to rise some before you restrict the upward movent.
Any way you go, my best to you!:peelout:

I ended up taking them off today to try and make up for the lack of track prep the track had today.

I'll try them again this weekend with a bit more slack in them.

I would try a run with them off since your having traction issues now... you never ran your truck with the new setup without the straps have you?
I think its worth a try, now that your pulling harder out of the hole with 4.56 you might want the front end lift back

Ya my 12.34 I had them disconnected. The track just wasn't putting enuff track bite down cuz there was hardly anyone there at the time.
